THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
"CHILDREN OF THE ARCTIC"
 The Adventure Club under the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is organizing the Third International Festival Children of the Arctic.
The goal of the Third Festival "Children of the Arctic" is to unite children of the Arctic region to settle the common problems under the slogan "Our Arctic – Our Future". General management of the Festival is carried out by the Organizing Committee, including prominent official authorities of Russia: Dr. Arthur Chilingarov, Special Representative for Arctic and Antarctic Issues to the President Russian Federation; Vasily Zhukov, academician, Rector of the Russian State Social University; Dr. Dmitry Shparo, General Director of the Adventure Club.
The Festival will take place on August 20, 2011 – September 2, 2011 at the "Almaz" Youth Center of the Russian State Social University (the town of Ruza, Moskovskaia oblast) and in the Youth Ecological Camp "Great Adventure" of the Adventure Club in the Republic of Karelia.
Four countries will participate in the Festival: Greenland, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden.
The Russia is presented by the eleven regions: Arkhangelskaia oblast; Vologodaskaia oblast; Moscow; Murmanskaia oblast; Nenetzky autonomous district; Karelia Republic; Komi Republic; Sakha Republic (Yakutia); Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetzky municipal district; Chukotsky autonomous district; Yamalo-Nenetzky autonomous district.
A team from each country or region will include five teenagers of the age 14-16 years old and one Leader of the age no younger than 18 years old.

The Ceremony of Opening the Festival at the Youth Almaz Center in the town of Ruza (3.00 p.m.) Meeting of the participants of the Festival with the participants of the Expedition "Arctic-2011". The Photo Exhibition "Images of the Arctic". The Creative Party – presentation of teams. |
August 21 |
Program Funny Mix at the Discovery High Rope courses. National master-classes. Photo Competition: voting. Evening of documentary films "My Earth", part 1. |
August 22 |
Conference "Our Arctic – Our Future". Departure of participants to Karelia at 8.00 p.m. |
August 23 |
Arrival at the Youth Camp Great Adventure. Meeting. Accommodation. |
August 24-25 |
Training session at the Youth Camp Great Adventure. The National Cooking Competition. |
August 26-28 |
A three day tour – rafting along rivers and lakes of Karelia. |
August 29 |
Farewell Feast "We will come back without fail". Departure from the Youth Camp Great Adventure at 6.00 p.m. |
August 30 |
Sightseeing tour around Petrozavodsk. Excursion to the Kizhi Island. Departure to Moscow at 7.00 p.m. |
August 31 |
Returning back from Karelia. Sightseeing excursion in Moscow. Arrival at the Youth Camp Almaz in the town of Ruza. Evening of documentary films "My Earth", part 2. |
September 1 |
Competition of ecological projects. Evening discotheque. |
