...Now we had a question: "What should we do?"
Stefania categorically insisted that we should repair the
truck and not to leave it. She said that we would soon be
left without any trucks. Her position was reasonable, though
for me it was still a point of issue...

Yuri Lepsky, a special correspondent of the newspaper "Trud"
is interviewing Stefaniz Zini, the captain of the team:
- Please, can you tell
what happened then?
- This conflict took place at our north route. I asked one
of the drivers (it was Leonid Klinov, an engineer from the
ZIL plant) to take his seat in the covered truck body. At
that moment there were journalists en route and all places
near drivers were occupied. And besides Leonid had been driving
a truck for many hours before and it was necessary to replace

Everybody is welcome to the Red Squire! On Saturday,
February 10, 2001, at the Red Squire, at the zero point of
the Russian highways, there would be the finish of the round
the world expedition in ZIL trucks, organized by the Adventure
Club. In ninety-two days the participants of the truck expedition
have overcome 25 thousand kilometers along the Russian unpaved
roads, American highways and European arterial roads. Many
companies had attempted such kind of vehicle expedition (Ford,
Iveco, Land Rover and Mitsubishi), but they all were a failure
at the Russian vast territory. Yuri M. Luzhkov, Mayor of Moscow,
will drive the first ZIL truck during the last kilometer of
this unique round the world route. The triumphant finale is
appointed on 12.00 a.m. Everyone is welcome!

In the evening of December 24, 2000 Sergey Goryachev during
overtaking crossed the continuous line. And as if on purpose
there was a police car, moving straight towards him. Certainly
he turned his car round, switched on a fog-horn, and caught
up with us and demanded us to stop. There was a pretty row,
the policeman accused us that we had not only infringed the
traffic rules but also that we were on the verge of killing
himself!
